English Challenge for Editors and Proofreaders

140 characters isn’t many, is it? A tweet has to restrict itself to that number and so do the answers to this competition for existing and aspiring copy-editors and proofreaders.

What is good English?

englishWe all know, or think we know, bad English when we see it. We cringe and recoil with righteousness festering in our narrow minds.

But could you define GOOD ENGLISH?

In 140 characters or fewer, we would like you to have a go on Twitter or in the comment section below. You can be serious or attempt to be funny. The best try will be posted within the next few weeks with your name attached if you like (or not, if you don’t).

If the writer of the published effort wants to do one of our proofreading and copy-editing courses that would be splendid and we would give him or her a 10% discount. If not, we just hope you have a bit of fun. We can’t promise to spot plagiarism but think it would be a bit sad. Good luck.
